7 Questions for Thursday: Vito Griseta

Vito Griseta was born in Chicago, raised in Rockford and has lived in Madison for the past 25 years. He has been married to Debbie for 37 years.. They have five children – two boys and three girls – and ten grandkids. He describes himself as “simple, down to earth, lover of God and people.” He attends Life Center Church.

What does Jesus mean for you?
Everything,

Colossians 2:9-14 – “For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”

Therefore we sons are the exact representation of our Father and our brother.

If you say you are a Son, why don’t you act like one!

Name your favorite 3 Christian music artists?
Fred Hammond, Alvin Slaughter and Clint Brown

What is the church body doing well and what could we improve on?
As far as a gathering we do that well, but establishing a personal relationship that exhibits mature Sons is something we need to develop so people become confident in their identity as Sons of God and living their lives that represent Christ our older Brother.

We say we have gotten off the milk and are eating meat, but in reality we continue chewing on the things that should reflect maturity but in essence we are re-chewing and not digesting and allowing the true nourishment that causes a mature healthy body.

What scripture really defines where you are today in life and why?
Genesis 2:7 – “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

Everyone is born with the same breath from the beginning but because of sin God has given us a choice whether to except that broth or reject that breath. I believe that God is calling us as the church and asked his sons to be a Resuscitation Station, to begin to breathe that breath of life that lives in us on others so that they can begin to inhale that breath and receive the fullness of life in Christ.

You had some health challenges. What are two things you learned about God in this process?
I have learned that His Love and breath gives me life that is able to bless and encourage Life and light to those still in darkness and gasping for breath. Resuscitate what God creates!

Where is your favorite place to pray and why?
In my chair at home in my living room. No TV – just me and my Father in conversations and interaction in His Presence. Being sensitive to His still small voice (whisper) of His Wisdom!

Who in the bible can you relate to the most?
Paul

Paul knew that his words and actions were right because they came from the person he belonged to – Christ. And those that opposed him belonged to the worldly dilutions of the Bible. Inevitably, we become like the person we belong to. Just like the inevitable transformation into our parents that we each make, when we seek after the true gospel of Christ, we begin to become like Christ.
